SIT Appointed Overseas Chair Professor Dr. Douglas Paul Gauvreau

On 6 November 2012, Dr. Douglas Paul Gauverau from the University of Toronto was appointed as the 2012 Overseas Chair Professor by Shanghai Institute of Technology. Vice President, Professor Yinzhong Ye participated in the appointment ceremnoy and awarded the certificate. Relevant executives from the School of City Construction and Safety Engineering, International Cooperation Division participated in the ceremony as well. 

 

VP Yinzhong Ye extended warm welcome and sincere appreciation to Dr. Douglas Paul Gauvreau for his engagement in the School of City Construction and Safety Engineering of SIT. VP Ye also made a briefs on the background, purpose of Overseas Chair Professor Project to Dr. Douglas Paul Gauvreau, and expected that SIT will be exploring more potentials with the home university of Chair Professor through this links. The School of City Construction and Safety Engineering also introduced the working program and teaching plan that has been worked out for Dr. Douglas.
 
Shanghai Overseas Chair Professor Project was initiated in 2011. The project aims for further expanding the education internationalization and attracting best quality education resources. SIT has successfully approved with two such projects in the year 2012.
 
Dr. Douglas Paul Gauvreau won Ph.D Degree from Federal Institute of Technology of Switzerland, and currently holds Associate Professor at University of Toronto, Department of Civil Engineering. Dr. Douglas has worked in many international famous companies, inicluding VSL Corporation, Raleigh, North Carolina, J. Muller International New York etc.
