Recently, the 2025 Shanghai International Summer School program—the "Belt and Road" Engineer Training Project, commissioned by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and hosted by SIT—officially commenced. Twenty-three participants from Vietnam, Thailand, and Laos gathered together, representing a diverse range of backgrounds including government, higher education institutions, enterprises, and various sectors of society. The program is based in Shanghai while extending its reach to Yunnan, areas along the Shanghai-Kunming High-Speed Railway, and the Yangtze River Delta region. Combining "rail transit lectures" with hands-on "Railway + Chinese Bridge" practices, it integrates professional knowledge with traditional Chinese culture. The initiative aims to cultivate future engineers in rail transportation and contribute educational and Shanghai’s expertise to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

On the afternoon of September 1st, a symposium for the "Belt and Road" Rail Transit Future Engineers Training Program was held. Guo QingSong, the University Party Secretary, attended the event, along with representative lecturer Zhang Hua—a National Labor Model and Chief Maintenance Engineer of Shanghai EMU Depot under China Railway Shanghai Group Co., Ltd. The symposium was presided over by Wang Ying, vice president of SIT. Staff from the International Office and the Faculty of Intelligent Technology also participated in the meeting.
