SIT’s Scientific Research Achievements Selected into the National Achievements Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences for the First Time

Recently, the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences announced the National Achievements Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences list of 2024. Professor Liang Zhiping (School of Marxism, SIT)’s results Admission Quota Research in Qing Dynasty was selected, achieving a major breakthrough in the university’s humanities and social science research.


Professor Liang Zhiping is mainly engaged in the research of traditional Chinese cultural history and environmental history. Since his master’s degree, he has studied the issues related to Qing Dynasty’s admission quota for more than 20 years. Admission Quota Research in Qing Dynasty is a basic study, which comprehensively and systematically reviews the changes of the admission quota in Qing Dynasty, the admission quota of more than 1,000 prefectures, states and counties across the country as well as the specialized admission quota. It summarizes the laws and characteristics, lays a solid institutional history and data foundation for the academic circles to further carry out relevant studies with the use of admission quota. The book can be used as a reference book for the study in history of Qing Dynasty and greatly promotes the imperial examination, local culture, social governance, state-local relations and other issues of research. At the same time, it can also provide historical reference for today’s educational examination system reform.


The National Achievements Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences was established by the National Office of Philosophy and Social Sciences in 2010, aiming to build a national-level high-end academic brand, focus on the release of practical innovation and theoretical innovation achievements of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, reflect the current frontier of Chinese philosophy and social sciences research, and represent the highest level of academic landmark works in related disciplines. Starting from 2019, the selection will be held every two years in principle; each discipline selected 1-2 books, and the total number is generally controlled at about 60. There are 61 results selected in 2024.
