To fully capture the latest developments in China’s translation industry and to provide an important platform for member institutions to showcase achievements, share resources, and exchange insights, the 2026 Annual Conference of the Translators Association of China (TAC) was recently held at Wuhan University. A special session was dedicated to the release and presentation of major translation achievements by member institutions, where translation projects with social influence and industry representation were selected. Following a rigorous comprehensive evaluation by an expert panel, the translated monograph A General History of Ancient Chinese Dramatic Theory, published as the final output of the Chinese Academic Translation Project led by Professor Pan Zhidan of the School of Foreign Languages, was successfully selected. This honor highlights the solid strength of our university’s foreign language disciplines in the field of academic translation.

The inclusion of this achievement in the TAC Major Translation Achievements List serves as a full recognition of the professionalism of the translation team at the School of Foreign Languages. It also demonstrates the School’s sense of responsibility and practice in proactively aligning with national strategies for cultural dissemination, and promoting the high-quality international development of new liberal arts education. Moving forward, the School of Foreign Languages will continue to strengthen translation practices, focus on the international dissemination of outstanding traditional Chinese culture, and enhance the professional competence and innovation capacity of its translation team, thereby contributing to the global promotion of Chinese culture, deepening Sino-foreign exchanges and cooperation, and boosting cultural soft power.
